What percent of an average non-profit’s budget is spent on marketing/fundraising, awareness, or advocacy?
The average non-profit organization spends no more than 10% on marketing. Usually, 70% of the budget goes directly to program spending, 10% to marketing, and the other 20% to office space and overhead costs. Some non-profit industry leaders are pushing for nonprofits to spend more on marketing as a way to further scale their operations.
Thank you for the info. Is it a good call to throw more money at marketing efforts? My organization is trying to tweak our budget so we see more in fundraising.
