Just started the local marketing grind - Trying to figure out how to master my target market and get the most out of marketing for a local business. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The first question you should ask yourself is the most obvious: Who am I trying to reach? Next, try to figure out your buyer’s motivation for buying/using your product or service.
Figure out not only who has a need for your product or service, but also who is most likely to take action. Think about the demographics of your target market (age, gender, location, marital/family status, income level, education level, occupation, etc.). Defining demographics can be really beneficial in better understanding who may use your product or service.
Then consider asking yourself questions about your target audience.
- What drives them to make purchasing decisions?
- How can you best reach your target audience? Consider postcards, cold calls or door knocking.
- How do they think?
- How does your idea, service, or product help your target audience?
