Depends on what you mean by “public auction”. If you are talking about a trustee sale (the “real” foreclosure auctions), then the only way for the Realtor to get paid is by the buyer. If you are talking about the bank auctions of previously foreclosed homes held by companies like REDC, then yes, they typically do offer some Realtor compensation.
