What should I do after purchasing a property that had a lis pendens?

I bought a home at trustee sale and found out afterwards there was a lis pendens on the property against the lenders and the trustee company with the homeowners being the plantiff. I am surprised that the trustee company was allowed to sell the property as they were named in the lawsuit. Should they give me a refund? How should I handle? Work something out with the prior owners? Still want the property but don’t want to be dragged into a lawsuit and I am not sure if I have grounds to force the trustee company to refund me for the property.

Start by going to the court and getting whatever you can on the case. Perhaps a case was never filed, or it has already been dismissed.
