Child support judgements

Hi Sean,

In the past how have you dealt with child support judgements? This particular judgement was recorded two years before the property was refinanced. This refinanced loan was the one foreclosed at auction. There is no judgement amount noted and we are waiting for the trustees deed so that we can run a prelim. If we end up uncovering a sizable judgement, are there any strategies we can employ to settle and move on? In other words, is this a negotiable amount? Thanks.

There is a title company officer who is fairly active here and will probably jump in. As I recall, hopefully when the loan was made, the title company picked up the lien and got a statement saying, at the time, there was nothing owing on the lien.
Don’t quote me, but any amounts that accrue afterwards would be junior.
