I got a property from foreclosure. I saw a lot of post says that the deed has to be recorded in 15 days. I searched online and there is no such law in California shows this. Is this law outdated?
With the introduction of SB1037, which allows bids after the trustee sale, the timelines were extended. It is now either 21 days (Civil Code § 2924h(c)(1)) or 60 days (Civil Code § 2924h(c)(3)).
Note that the deed remains valid if recorded after that, but the transfer of ownership will be as of its recording, not as of 8am on the day of the sale.
